30/01/2020

PWDA's vision is of a socially just, accessible and inclusive community, in which the human rights, belonging, contribution, potential and diversity of all people with disability are recognised, respected and celebrated with pride.

Founded in 1981, the International Year of Disabled Persons, PWDA provides people with disability with a voice of their own. They are are a non-profit, non-government organisation, who work across Australia and also represent people with disability at the United Nations.

The Tenants' Union is supporting PWDA's Disability Housing Advocacy Service. We will be providing legal support and advice, training, referrals and resources, in relation to tenancy law.

The first matters we have advised on include repairs in social housing, and habitability in private rental.

PWDA's Disabiltiy Housing Information Line can be contacted at: 1800 843 929 or housinginfo@pwd.org.au
