ABOUT

Western Sydney Tenants Service (WESTS) provides free tenancy advice, referrals, and advocacy for residential tenants at the Tribunal. Our services are focused on but not limited to tenants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; who are low-income earners; living in social housing; who suffer isolation; and/or who have disabilities.

Our services are available to renters living in Western Sydney. Please note, we do not offer advice on tenancy issues to landlords or real estate agents, or strata advice.

Book an appointment to see our team at the Parramatta Office, Monday to Fridays: Suite 202, 107 Phillip Street Parramatta NSW 2150. To book an appointment at our Penrith Outreach please contact the service on (02) 8833 0933.

WESTS is a program of the Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC).

Standing Strong – Tenant Advocates Conference

Forging Ahead – Tenant Advocates Conference

In October 2021, around 100 Tenant Advocates from across NSW came together online for our annual Tenants Advice and Advocacy Services Conference, under the theme 'Forging Ahead'. It was a great opportunity for Tenant Advocates to hear from each other about the issues faced by different renters, and to learn, discuss and innovate in our practice. A main focus of the Conference this year was the huge challenges faced by renters due to COVID and the ongoing housing crisis, as well as how we can forge ahead and continue to improve.

WESTS lockdown service update

The Western Sydney Tenants' Service (WESTS) is operating remotely during the COVID-19 Lockdown period. We will continue to deliver our excellent service to the Western Sydney community whilst in lockdown. Our offices are currently closed, but we strongly encourage our clients to continue contacting us online or via phone. As a tenant, you are entitled to exercise your rights within the scope of the current Public Health Orders and landlords are still to be held accountable to their general obligations under the rental agreement and residential tenancies law.
