Re: Non-lodgement of rental bond for premises at [your address]

I signed a residential tenancy agreement for the above property on [date]. To date I have received no confirmation that the rental bond has been lodged with Renting Services.

I draw your attention to section 8 (2) of the Landlord and Tenant (Rental Bonds) Act 1977. Landlords are required to deposit the rental bond with Renting Services no later than 7 days after the start of the residential tenancy agreement. Under section 16 of the same Act, the penalty of non-lodgement of a rental bond is a fine of up to $2,200.

I ask that the rental bond be lodged as soon as possible.
