Dear …

Re: Payment of rent arrears at[your address]

I am enclosing a cheque for $ [amount] which covers my rent arrears and puts me two weeks in advance as required under our tenancy agreement.

As you are aware under section 65(2)(b) of the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal may refuse to make an order for possession where the tenant has remedied the breach.

I would ask that you do not proceed to the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal as my rent is now up to date. I will be making every effort to see this situation does not happen again.

If you would like to discuss this further please contact me on [phone number].

Yours sincerely

T Tenant
